Our Vision

The vision of the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation is to have Baton Rouge recognized for its blues heritage and culture, and to bring the best of Louisiana blues music to the world.

Our History

The Baton Rouge Blues Foundation was founded in 2002. A non-profit organization, the Foundation sponsors the Music in the Schools Program, the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation Awards and Baton Rouge Blues Week. Sparked and guided by a strong Strategic Plan, the Foundation opened its doors to a general membership on August 31, 2006, with a very successful jam session at Phil Brady’s. The Jam was hosted by South Louisiana legend, Tab Benoit, and included performances by Tabby Thomas, Buddy Flett, Henry Gray, Herman Jackson, Deacon John, Luther Kent, Bobby Campo,Chris Belleau, and Andy Pizzo.

Baton Rouge Blues Foundation is a proud sponsor of KBRH-AM and WBRH-FM's Blues Buffet program.  The Blues Buffet airs each Saturday at 2 p.m on 1260 AM and 90.3 FM.  The show features great blues, biographical sketches of artists, and is written, produced and hosted by students in the radio training program at Baton Rouge Magnet High School.
