This lecture/performance series sponsored by the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation places music educators and professionals in schools across the state of Louisiana. Music educators and professional musicians participating in the program include Deacon John Moore, Bobby Campo & Mike Esneault, Theressa Anderson, Herman Jackson and Johnny Palazzotto. Each brings his or her own unique style and personality, and instrument, of course, to their presentation. Students are invited to interact with the presenter and even participate in impromptu music lessons.
The Baton Rouge Blues Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a $5,000 grant from the VSA Arts of Louisiana to fund the Music in the Schools Program. Specifically, the funding is provided by the central office of VSA arts, under an award from the U.S. Department of Education.
The Foundation has produced an informational DVD that features performances and interviews of our Music in the Schools performing artists. These DVDs are available to schools at no charge and may be obtained by contacting Johnny Palazzotto.
Check out these recent visits by the Music in Schools Program. Do you know a school that would be interested in participating in our Music in the Schools Program? For more information, contact Johnny Palazzotto.
